Whatever Foundation I lay in this life, I would surely like it to be all wrapped up in Beauty. Yesod always makes me think of parent/child and student/teacher relationships, and fills me with gratitude. I am a parent to one, the daughter of two parents, a teacher of many, and a student of many teachers.
I am very fortunate that many of these relationships have an aura of Beauty around them in my mind’s eye, and have remained Rooted in my Heart. It is rather humbling, really. .
I have the blessing of music as one of my primary modes of teaching - whether it be through Tefillah or on the concert stage. I’ve seen Hazzan Abbe Lyons refer to music as “stealth teaching.” In these contexts, I become more and more aware that I may be a part of cultivating Roots in people I may never even meet personally. Also very humbling.
