Omer Day 1 חסד שב חסד Chesed SheBeChesed

Love within Love within Love within Love within...

“Love is an action word.” I was once told this by one of my spiritual elders. “How do I love myself?” She had asked one of her elders in her spiritual youth. “You perform loving acts. Eat well, take care of your body. Practice discerning between want and need, and taking notice of how your needs are provided for. Speaking kindly and lovingly to yourself. Give of yourself to others. Give thanks.”

Jewish tradition tells us that Chesed encompasses action. This is exemplified in Psalm 136, as the psalmist tells of the miracles of creation and redemption wrought on our behalf - כי לעולם חסדו - for G-d’s Chesed is everlasting.

Love within Love. A spiral of feeling and action. The feeling that grows within us as the result of the loving acts that we perform. We give, our arms outstreched. The well bubbles up within us, within the Love we freely give. The well springs forth within those who receive of our giving.

Love within Love within Love within Love within...

Welcome back to our annual mystical journey. May you dance into the coming weeks in a gentle spiral of Loving action and flowing Love!
